  6. Once you have reached the Microphone Properties open the Listen tab present in there. 
  7. Then you must Uncheck the option “ Listen to this device”.
  8. Now open the Advanced tab and then in there make sure that the option “ Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device” is checked.

Method 2: Update the Sound Drivers to Fix Discord Picking up Game Audio

  1. First you must open Run by pressing the shortcut keys Windows + R.
  2. Then in the Run type devmgmt.dsc and then click on OK so that the Device Manager will open.
  3. Now in the Device Manager, you have to expand the Sound, Video, and game controller category.
  4. After doing so you must Right-Click on the audio device and select the option Update Driver.
  5. Then you have to select Search automatically for updated driver software option and then once found click on it. 
  6. Then Windows will do its job and install the updates for the sound drivers automatically now and from now on as well.
  7. After that, you must Right-Click on the microphone you are using and then select Update Driver.
  8. Now again Select Search automatically for the updated driver software option and if any updates available the Windows will install automatically. 
  9. Now just close the Device Manager and then see if there is any improvement. 

Method 3: Check Stereo Mix Setting 

  1. First, you must Right-Click on the Speaker icon present in the taskbar.
  2. Now in there select the Sounds Option.
  3. In case there is no Sounds option present then Open the Sound Settings and in there select the Related Settings Option and last open the Sound Control Panel to reach the desired destination.
  4. Now in the Sounds window, you can find the Recording tab, select it.
  5. Now Right-click on the Stereo Mix in there and Disable it if it is enabled.
  6. Now simply close the Sound Control Panel.
  7. Now Launch the Discord and then in there click on the User Settings icon.
  8. After that select the Voice and Video settings option.
  9. Now click on the drop-down menu and then in there under the Output Device section select the headphone you are using as the output device.  
  10. Now select the microphone as the Input Device and save the changes. Now exit and see if the problem has been resolved.
